Interactive Learning in Project Management: September 2024 PM² Online Course Delivers Practical Tools and Knowledge

Our latest online training session, PM² Project Management Methodology for EU Funded Projects, took place on September 9-10, 2024, bringing together professionals focused on mastering effective project management strategies within the EU funding landscape. This session introduced participants to practical applications of the PM² methodology through an interactive, hands-on approach facilitated via the Miro board.

The use of Miro allowed participants to collaborate virtually, applying PM² principles in real time. This dynamic tool enabled attendees to work together on developing key project artefacts, visually mapping out stakeholder roles and responsibilities, and practicing project initiation processes.

Key Course Highlights and Participant Questions

One of the focal points of the course was the Project Planning Phase. Participants engaged in exercises on creating detailed project work plans and explored questions such as, “How can we best estimate project timelines while accounting for potential delays?” and “What techniques can help in aligning team efforts with project goals throughout the planning process?” The session provided actionable insights into balancing scope, budget, and time constraints using the PM² methodology.

Another significant component was Quality Assurance and Monitoring, where attendees discussed practical ways to maintain project quality at each stage. They explored questions like, “What are the best practices for setting measurable quality indicators?” and “How can we adapt monitoring techniques to changing project needs?” This segment included collaborative exercises in which participants developed mock quality assurance plans, strengthening their understanding of PM²’s quality control tools.

Pathway to PM² Certification

In addition to practical skills, the course also prepared attendees for the PM² Basic Certification exam by providing an in-depth overview of the certification process. Participants received a voucher for the exam, giving them the opportunity to validate their newly acquired skills and apply PM² principles with confidence in their current and future EU-funded projects.
