European Academy’s recent training course on Proposal Writing for Research and Innovation Projects took place online between 25 and 27 January. A group of participants from diverse backgrounds, including social sciences, education, and management, participated in this session. Despite the lack of attendees from common scientific fields involved in R&I, a “fictional project” exercise took place in the frame of the course, discussing relevant topics such as formulating the excellence section, impact pathways, workplan breakdown, risk management, and communication/dissemination/exploitation. The participants showed great interest in the workplan and risk management sections, as well as the additional presentation on the Horizontal Axis of HE (Widening Participation and Strengthening the ERA). Overall, attendees got a taste of developing an R&I proposal, and the course was a great success!
